this way the problem was solved but it doesn't make me happy as i know there are issues out there wasn't solved. Since the usb won't work, I adjusted the ist file and made it skipped over the GUI screen and boots the default partition automatically. I thought maybe it was the ist file but it just won't work no matter how i change this file.įurtunately, i don't have a dual boot and the OS X is the only partition I have on the harddrive. However it does work after i plug out the usb adapter/receiver and replug it in. Plugging it in via the USB-to-Lightning charging cable solved the problem, and allowed it to be recognized and used during the startup. I can't move the arrow keys to select/highlight the partition i want to boot up. In his case, he was using a recent Apple Wireless Keyboard. I have no problem creating a bootable usb drive with yosemite and the whole installation process was very smoothly actually, however one thing that really bothers me is that my wireless USB keyboard and mouse won't work on Clover boot up GUI screen. It's a legacy BIOS and doesn't support UEFI. Recently i installed Yosemite on my spare build, it's a very old build:

There're lots of great guides so even a starter like me can install OS X on my computer. Because I don’t trust corrosion I convinced the customer to get a replacement cable anyway.Building a CustoMac Hackintosh: Buyer's Guideįirst of all i'd like to thank everyone in the forum who made this possible. Putting it back together the keyboard and trackpad started working 100%. I didn’t find any other corrosion to lead me to other future problems (whew). I also gently scrubbed the connecting ports. I cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush and let it dry. Should have checked closer because upon removing the IPD Trackpad Flex Cable (under the battery) I noticed a small amount of corrosion on the trackpad side of the cable.

TL DR: Initially I opened up the Air to verify that cables were ok and plugged in. Upon realizing this I decided to check the hardware more closely. Had I done this in the first place I would have realized that the keyboard and trackpad also weren’t working in recovery from a different device, which is a big clue. Next I tried booting to Catalina Recovery Mode via Catalina USB installer (make a Catalina USB installer, plug it in and hold the ALT key prior to boot chime of macbook). Still not working I copied the old preferences back to the original location and skipped the existing files. Upon rebooting MacOS rebuilt the users preferences as if it was a new user signing in. Then I moved, not deleted, the Users Preferences folder.

Mouse Keys and Sticky Keys were not turned on. After that didn’t solve the issue I checked the Accessibility (System Preferences/Accessibility/Keyboard|Pointer Control) options for both mouse and keyboard.

Check to see if the Logitech Bluetooth device is working. Wait a few seconds, and then click Turn Bluetooth On.

Navigate to the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences: Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Bluetooth Click Turn Bluetooth Off.

Then I updated from Yosemite to High Sierra to Catalina (cause it should be updated anyway). Restart the Mac Bluetooth Connection on your Mac.

Hence I thought it was a software problem. After logging in they would stop functioning. Reason I turned of FV is because when I would reboot the system I could use the keyboard and touchpad on the Air. Then I turned off FileVault (System Preferences/Security & Privacy/FileVault). Better wait for proper bug fix from Apple and/or Microsoft. EDIT: You also have to disconnect and reconnect the Apple keyboard in Bootcamp afterwards. (Vit, 22-01-09) XMP works at least with DDR5 we had at hand, but there were reports of no issues with DDR4 as well. We had to unlock it manually through the Shell method described in OpenCore Reference Manual. This is an obvious BIOS bug, although it may not cause boot failures. Then I did a Time Machine (System Preferences/TimeMachine) backup because that’s the first thing I do on all customers macs that involve potential changes. Apple keyboard has to be disconnected in OSX first every time, otherwise it wont work via Bluetooth in Bootcamp. CFG Lock may not be configurable in preferences on ASUS boards. The Air had I started off by verifying that a USB keyboard and mouse would function. I solved the issue on a Macbook Air mid 2013.
